From April 2026, employers with 250 or more employees will have the option to produce and publish a voluntary action plan alongside their gender pay gap data. The action plans will show the steps employers are taking to reduce their organisation's gender pay gap and support employees experiencing menopause. They will become mandatory from Spring 2027. The changes are being brought in by the Employment Rights Act 2025.
The Government has produced a list of recommended, evidence informed actions that employers can include in their plan. The list includes actions relating to recruitment, development and promotion, building diversity and increasing transparency. The list also covers actions to support employees experiencing menopause and can be found here: Action plans: list of actions - GOV.UK
