The Immigration Skills Charge (ISC) is a fee that sponsors must pay when assigning a Certificate of Sponsorship to most Skilled Worker migrants.
From 16 December 2025, the ISC rates will increase as follows:
| Pre-16 Dec 2025 | From 16 Dec 2025 | |
| Large and Medium Sponsors | £1,000 per year of sponsorship | £1,320 per year of sponsorship |
| Small and Charitable Sponsors | £364 per year of sponsorship | £480 per year of sponsorship |
The new rates will apply to any Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) assigned on or after 16 December 2025.
Due to this upcoming change, there is growing demand on the post licence priority service for sponsors who need to increase their CoS allocation before the new rates apply.
We encourage employers to review recruitment needs ahead of this change and to consider any extensions that may be brought forward. A CoS can be assigned up to three months before the employment start date, so with proper preparation it may be possible to assign any required CoS before the higher charges take effect.
Should you require any support with obtaining or assigning any CoS, or with increasing a CoS allocation, please get in touch with our Immigration Team.
