The Association of Colleges (AoC) has just published a report, From treatment to prevention: how colleges can build a healthier society, which examines the role of our country's colleges in contributing to preventative healthcare in their communities. Shining a light on current initiatives evidenced by a series of case studies, the report makes important recommendations around:
- recognition of what colleges can contribute in this space;
- the need for better coordination between all stakeholders;
- how funding can be better deployed; and
- what good governance and oversight should encompass.
The insights offered by this report are consistent with the wider themes we see across our work with clients across all the sectors we support. The chances of achieving positive societal impact are greater where people and organisations congregate around shared objectives and work together as a team. How those relationships are governed is important in supporting successful outcomes. You know when you are getting that right if it feels facilitative and enjoyable - which it can and it should. If you are thinking about how best to do that, we are ready to help you.
